Kina Wolfenstein, LCSW
I specialize in treating complex trauma/CPTSD, with a focus on attachment trauma. Most of my clients experienced abuse, neglect, or some kind of significant dysfunction in their upbringings. Complex trauma impacts all areas of life and usually leads to secondary issues like anxiety, depression, harmful coping patterns, and relational difficulties. I work well with people who are ready to do the deep work to heal from complex trauma. I also frequently work with people with ADHD and Autism from a neurodiversity-affirming lens.
I specialize in experiential and bottom-up modalities of healing. This means instead of traditional talk therapy where you might generate insights and analyze patterns, I focus on embodied styles of processing. These styles of therapy allow us to go straight to the root of the issues, and resolve them there.
I believe that we are highly adaptive, that our problems make sense, and that many of our difficulties start off as solutions to help us stay safe and survive. My main modalities are Internal Family Systems, Coherence Therapy, and Somatic Experiencing. My approach is highly compassionate, affirming, and non-pathologizing. I offer free phone consultations, so we can talk about working together and see if we would be a good fit!
